Bernardino Ghetti, MD
Dr. Ghetti is Distinguished Professor at Indiana University and Chancellor’s Professor at Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis. Since 1991 to February 2013, Dr. Ghetti has served as director of the Indiana Alzheimer Disease Center (IADC), located on the IU School of Medicine campus in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is the leader of the Neuropathology Core of the IADC.
The Indiana Alzheimer Disease Center is funded by the National Institute on Aging, and the center’s purpose is to identify individuals with probable Alzheimer disease. Indiana University is one of 32 sites in the United States selected to conduct such a program.
Dr. Ghetti is an authority in the field of hereditary neurodegenerative dementias, including Alzheimer Disease, Pick Disease, and Gerstmann-Sträussler-Scheinker disease. His clinical work includes diagnosing degenerative dementias.
Educated in Italy and the United States, Dr. Ghetti keeps his heart in two worlds, one American and one Italian.
